The Melbourne Football Club was a crowd favourite at the Casey kids’ carnival, held during March. There was a great turn out of families for a fun day of activities. The Melbourne marquee had Pirate Pete, with fantastic face painting, and some amazing balloon making.
The badge making was also a hit, with fans proudly showing their true colours with Demons badges and player images - these were even a hit among the non-Demons fans.
The handball target got a good work out, too, attracting kids and many parents, who showed their skills and were given tips by All Australian VWFL player and City of Casey girl, Kara Donnellan.
Chuck and Checker - the Club mascots - strutted their stuff on stage, with some amazing moves and dancing to their favourite song - ‘Grand Old Flag’.
The giveaways flew out the door. Thanks go to Metrosolar for sun visors, while kids were also given stickers and posters throughout the day.
The day was a huge success, with plenty of families signing up for the Round One City of Casey match, accompanied by the offer of 500 free family passes to residents in the City of Casey area.
