DEFENDER Daniel Nicholson will miss the next two to three weeks with a jaw fracture.

Nicholson suffered the injury after a collision with North Melbourne’s Lindsay Thomas. The Kangaroos player has been offered two weeks for engaging in rough conduct on Nicholson.

“Daniel has had a scan on his jaw, which has unfortunately shown a fracture,” football manager Josh Mahoney said.

“As a consequence, he will miss the next two to three weeks.”

Defender Jack Watts (ankle), who has missed the past three matches, faces fitness tests.

“Jack’s ankle is progressing each session, and if this continues he will be a chance to play this week,” Mahoney said.

Forward Ricky Petterd, who hurt his hamstring playing for Casey on Saturday, is also 50/50 to play this round. First-year Demon Josh Tynan is in the mix to return from concussion.

Ruckman Mark Jamar (calf) will miss the next two to three matches, while forward Liam Jurrah (ankle) is another two weeks away.

“Liam’s ankle has recovered sufficiently,” Mahoney said.

“He has now begun an intensive conditioning program designed to get him back playing when this is completed.”

Key forward Mitch Clark, veteran Aaron Davey and ruckman Max Gawn are sidelined for the remainder of 2012 with foot injuries.

Defender Clint Bartram and the pacy Jamie Bennell will also miss the rest of the season with knee injuries.

Youngster Rory Taggert (back) is also out indefinitely.
