MELBOURNE’S Maeve Chaplin and Saraid Taylor have been ruled out of the club’s Round 1 clash against Collingwood.
Sam Batterton, the club’s AFLW Head of High-Performance, provided an update on the pair as the team continues preparations for Friday’s season-opener.
“Saraid sustained a foot injury last week,” Batterton told Melbourne Media.
“She’s currently in a period of off-loading and will commence running at the back end of this week.
“Maeve sustained a concussion during that [Hawthorn] practice match and she’s progressing through the protocols.
“She won’t be available this week, but she’s really close, so we’ll look to have her back available next week.”
