The eighth season of the AFL Women’s competition is just around the corner, and I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your amazing support of our team, program and broader club. Our members and supporters mean so much to us and we, as players, are so grateful.

There aren’t many words to describe how special last season was. To be part of history, achieving the first AFLW premiership for our great club, is something that we had all dreamed of – for so long. Those late nights, extra sessions and near misses were worth it as the final siren sounded in Springfield. We hope when Mick Stinear and Daisy Pearce held that premiership cup aloft, you felt incredibly proud to belong to the red and blue.
Our challenge for this season is to go again. It’s to channel our strong connections, embrace the expectation and try to do something that hasn’t been done before. It’s to play with unconditional Demon Spirit. After months of training and preparation, now is our time to give it another crack.
It begins with Friday night footy at Ikon Park, taking on Collingwood. It’s a big occasion. We’ll be opening the 2023 NAB AFL Women’s season, unfurling our premiership flag, and kicking off what we hope is another historic campaign. It’s one of those ones that can’t be missed. We can’t wait to see all of you in the crowd, sharing in this unforgettable moment with us.
As a group, we’re so excited for the journey we’re about to embark on and would love to have you join us. By getting on board as a member in 2023, you will be part of our quest for more success – and trust me when I say that we want more. We need your passion, your voice, your Demon Spirit.
