MELBOURNE’S Bayley Fritsch is flying through his rehab program, with a return in Round 24 in his sights.

Club doctor Laura Lallenec provided an update on the forward, with positive news on the horizon for Fritsch.

“He’s flying through his rehab, it’s been really nice to watch,” Lallenec told Melbourne Media.

“The plan this week [with Bayley] is to integrate him into training and then look to potentially play and be available for selection for Sydney."

Ben Brown was a notable absence from play last weekend, ruled out with knee soreness.

“[He had] some increasing soreness with that knee,” Lallenec said.

“It’s been long-standing, and we just have to manage it week-to-week.

“He’s had a week off, he’s had a really good rehab session on the weekend and the plan this week is to get him full training with the view to be available for the weekend.”

In good news for Daniel Turner, the young defender is on the run home to return from a scaphoid injury.

“He’s at the tail-end of his rehab,” Lallenec said.

“He just needs some imaging done to be cleared by the surgeon for main training this week and then hopefully to be available for the weekend.”

After stints on the sidelines, Tom McDonald, Kye Turner and Clayton Oliver all made successful returns to match-play on the weekend across the AFL and VFL games.

Harrison Petty, Blake Howes and Ollie Sestan have continued through their rehab schedules for their respective season-ending injuries.
