FORWARD Liam Jurrah, who has yet to play a match of any sorts this year, is a chance to return for Casey, when the Scorpions host North Ballarat at Casey Fields on Sunday.

Jurrah, who has also had to deal with some much-publicised off-field issues in 2012, has battled a wrist injury, which was sustained pre-Christmas.

Football manager Josh Mahoney said if Jurrah could achieve his targets this week, he would play in the VFL this weekend.

“Liam will participate in full training this week and if he is able to achieve the individual benchmark set for him, he will be available for selection this week,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“If he does that, then he’ll be available for selection for Casey this week.”

Key forward Mitch Clark faces a fitness test, after suffering what initially looked like a nasty neck injury against the Western Bulldogs on Sunday.

Although he initially looked in serious trouble, after falling head first into the ground following a high-flying leap, Clark got to his feet and gingerly jogged to the bench.

He was taken to hospital for precautions and will be assessed in the lead-up to Melbourne’s clash against St Kilda at the MCG on Saturday night.

Another big man, Stef Martin, is also a 50/50 chance, due to a hip problem.

Former captain Brad Green (finger) will miss another three matches and young midfielder Jordan Gysberts (ankle) remains two weeks away.

Defender James Strauss will miss one more week with a leg complaint and first-year Demon Josh Tynan is sidelined for two to four weeks with a foot injury.

Ruckman Max Gawn (knee) is out for the season and utility Neville Jetta (ankle) and rookie Michael Evans (back) are out indefinitely.
