With the Round 21 win over the Kangaroos, the Demons mathematically locked in a spot inside the top eight, confirming their status as finals contenders for the 2023 Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

With September just around the corner, here's is some important ticketing information to keep in mind.

Membership is the only way to guarantee a ticket:
Weeks 1-3 of finals

That's right; Melbourne Football Club members* will be able to access tickets prior to general public on-sale in weeks 1-3 of finals. There is no guarantee any tickets will be available to the general public following the member pre-sale, so being a member is more important than ever.

If you are yet to become a member, there's still time; you can unlock priority finals access for weeks 1-3 by grabbing your discounted Demons membership for just $30.

If you are already a member, but want to attend a finals match with a friend or family member who isn't, then we encourage you to refer them to this offer.

*Only access members can purchase as part of the member pre-sale.

Additional ticketing information:
Weeks 1-3 of finals

All finals ticketing is facilitated by the AFL. This means that home and away match access members cannot access tickets using their mobile membership or membership card. All access members must purchase tickets to finals using their membership barcode on Ticketek.

Ticketing information including membership barcodes will be communicated to access members via email from the club on Monday 28th August for Week 1 of finals, Monday 11th September for Week 2 of finals and Monday 18th September for Week 3 of finals.

Non access members will be able to purchase tickets to weeks 1-3 of finals if available once the General Public ticket on sale has commenced.

Process

To register for a Grand Final ticket you will need your membership barcode number and any barcode number of member(s) you wish to attend with. Members who wish to attend together must register in a group providing all membership barcode numbers in one transaction, using one credit card.  A limit of barcodes per transaction will apply.* Each member barcode will be charged a non-refundable fee at time of registration to cover administration costs.*
*to be determined closer to finals.

Members will be required to register for Grand Final tickets via the internet (by logging onto ticketek.com.au). Please ensure you have a My Ticketek Account before registering.  If you don’t already have an account, we recommend logging onto ticketek.com.au and selecting ‘My Ticketek’ to create an account at least 24 hours prior to registration.

Members wishing to attend together who sit in different priority groups, are required to register in the timeframe allocated to the member with the lower priority.

Priority Groups

Each priority group will be allocated a specific time frame in which they are to register for a grand final ticket.

1) Guaranteed*: Legends Members, Trident Members, Redleg Members, Demon Seats Plus Members, President’s Club Members, Foundation Heroes, Life Members and Grand Final Guarantee Holders

2) Ballot: Red & Blue Home/Home & Away, Country/Interstate and 20+ Year Consecutive Members

3) Ballot: 3 Game Members, 6 Game Members, MCC/MFC Exclusive Members, Little Demons, Auskick Members and AFL Silver Members

*Any Priority 1 Member who do not register in the designated time frame or instead elect to register within the Priority Two or Priority Three time frame will have waived their right to a guaranteed ticket.  It does not matter what time you register during the designated timeframe as all registrations will be randomised to determine the order in which tickets will be allocated.

Registration Options

The following ticket options will be provided for members to select when registering:

  1. I will accept the next best available ticket – including Standing Room
Members can receive Category 1-7 seating, Restricted View or Standing Room ticket. These will be allocated on the next best available basis.
  2. I will accept the next best available reserved seat – no Standing Room
Members can receive a Category 1-7 or Restricted View reserved seating only. Members will not be allocated a Standing Room ticket.

Tickets will be allocated via ballot on a next best available basis, and therefore members can receive a Category 1-7 Reserved Seat, Restricted View Seat or Standing Room ticket.  If you select option 2 and all reserved seat tickets have been allocated when your registration is next to be processed, you will not be issued a Grand Final Ticket.

Accessible Seating Process

Members who have a medical requirement for access to mobility impaired ticketing or who hold a companion card do not register via the ballot as outlined above. These Members must complete a special registration form which is to be returned by a certain date.  Late registrations cannot be accepted. Members that are currently recorded by the club as either mobility impaired or Companion Card holders will find this form enclosed with this information closer to the finals. Members who require access to mobility impaired ticketing and have not received this form will be required to contact the club prior to the designated registration date to request this. A medical certificate may need to be provided with the registration form for members who are not already recorded in the Club database.

Payment Procedure

Adult members may only purchase tickets at Adult prices and Concession and Junior members may only purchase at the Concession price. There is no Junior price for the grand final.

Members wishing to attend together must register their group in one transaction using one credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners).  There is a maximum number of tickets per transaction and members should be aware that registrations with more than one ticket are ‘one in all in’ or ‘one out all out’; group registrations will not be split.

If Melbourne has qualified for the AFL Grand Final and members were successful in the ballot, the member who provided the credit card details during the ballot registration period must ensure they have sufficient funds available on their credit card in order to complete payment for the transaction based on the prices below. It is each member’s responsibility to ensure they have sufficient funds to cover the range of ticket prices in addition to the non-refundable registration fee per barcode registered. Tickets will be allocated via ballot on a next best available basis, and therefore members can receive a Category 1-7 Reserved Seat, Restricted View seat or Standing Room* ticket (*depending on which ticket option was chosen during the registration process). The credit card holder should have enough funds to potentially pay for Category 1 tickets for all members registered in the transaction.
