MELBOURNE ruckman Max Gawn stood tall and received full marks from the coaches following a colossal performance in a 32-point victory over Richmond.  

Harrison Petty took home a solid eight votes following his big goal haul. 

The usual suspects rounded out the voting with vice-captain Jack Viney and Christian Petracca polling several votes each from their performances at the MCG on Sunday afternoon. 

A perfect ten votes for Gawn were well-earned following a captain's performance, finishing the day with 40 hit-outs, 28 disposals, a game-high 11 clearances, 22 contested possessions and ten score involvements.  

Such an impactful performance earned Gawn top votes for the third week running, polling 27 votes over a 21-day period, a trend of 100% game time in the final quarter of the last three games, Gawn is becoming an opponent’s nightmare late in the game.

 From back to forward, Harrison Petty stunned the MCG with a solid bag of six goals.  

The trail of putting a backman forward has been one under scrutiny in the last few weeks with Melbourne’s forward line has been one closely watched by the media and fans. 

The test came with pressure, but Petty stood tall and played his role.  

Petty notched up six goals and a solid ten marks in a number of ways, flying high above opponents, taking contested pack marks and holding his own against experienced defenders. 

Petty’s performance earned him eight votes for an impressive and memorable performance from no. 35 and one that will go down as an MCG classic against Richmond.

Vice-captain Jack Viney was next on the polling, taking home six votes following a standard Viney performance. 

Asserting his dominance around the ground, picking up 32 disposals, a game-high nine tackles, seven clearances, nine inside 50s and 10 contested possessions. 

A physical and dominant performance around the ground by the rugged midfielder brought energy and physicality which set the tone for the game early on, a heavily contested game dictated from the first bounce by Viney.

Finally, it was the usual suspect in Christian Petracca who rounded up the voting with two votes following a solid performance ahead of the ball.  

Petracca has played more game time up forward in recent weeks and used this to impact the game. A heavily contested game saw Petracca spent more time around the ball, collecting 29 disposals.

Petracca had his usual scoring impact, hitting the scoreboard with a goal and collecting four goal assists on his way to collecting two votes.
