FORMER skipper Brad Green, and leaders James Frawley and Clint Bartram, will face fitness tests in the lead up to Saturday night’s clash against Essendon at the MCG.

Green copped a heavy knock against Carlton at the MCG on Sunday, and was taken to the Epworth Hospital.

Scans later cleared him of lung contusion, but he remained in hospital as a precaution.

Frawley has been managing a foot problem in recent weeks, and had scans on his plantar fascia on Monday.

The 2010 All-Australian defender wore a moon boot as a precautionary measure.

Bartram was a late withdrawal against Carlton with a knee injury.

The tenacious backman has been battling a knee injury in recent times.

Big man Stef Martin (quadriceps) and defender James Strauss (foot) will also face tests.

Forward Liam Jurrah (ankle) and midfielder Jordan Gysberts (jaw) are still another two to four weeks away from playing.

Youngster Josh Tynan (foot) will miss another game, and rookie Leigh Williams remains two weeks away from resuming play following a virus on the brain, which forced him into an induced coma in April. He has made a good recovery, and is continuing his progress towards playing matches.

Utility Neville Jetta (foot) is out indefinitely, as are first year Demon Rory Taggert and midfielder Michael Evans with back injuries.

Ruckman Max Gawn (knee) will miss the rest of 2012.
