DEFENDER James Frawley has had scans on his foot, following Sunday’s loss to Carlton at the MCG, but he remains a chance to play this round.

Football manager Josh Mahoney said Frawley had scans on Monday day morning, but the club remains hopeful the 2010 All-Australian will play against Essendon at the MCG on Saturday night.

“James Frawley had scans on a plantar fascia injury that he has been managing for the past few weeks,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“James was wearing a moon boot when he went to have scans.

“This is a precautionary method used for any of our players who may have any lower leg injuries.”

Frawley was one of Melbourne’s best against the Blues, winning 24 disposals and taking 10 marks.
