DEFENDER Joel Macdonald has accepted a $900 sanction for wrestling St Kilda’s Nick Winmar.

Macdonald was charged by the match review panel for a first wrestle offence on Winmar during the half-time break of last Saturday’s loss at Etihad Stadium.

He was initially given a $1200 sanction, but an early plea reduced it by 25 per cent.

It means the 26-year-old will be eligible to play against Carlton at the MCG on Friday night.

Macdonald will play his 100th AFL match, having played 80 for Brisbane Lions from 2004-09.
