Zurich Insurance has continued its support of Neale Daniher and his fight against ‘The Beast’, donating a further $20,000 to FightMND.
It marks the sixth consecutive year Melbourne’s Co-Principal Partner has got behind the foundation and takes its donation tally to $120,000.
This year’s contribution comes after Zurich once again combined forces with the Gus & Gawny podcast, funding the release of a limited-edition crew neck jumper, where 100% of proceeds go to FightMND.
The dedicated apparel – a nod to Max Gawn and Angus Brayshaw’s popular show – has been a hit so far with Dees fans, following on from the success of the ‘Friends of the Podcast’ t-shirt last year.
Linda Griffin, Head of Brand, Marketing and Corporate Affairs at Zurich Australia and New Zealand, said the collaboration was a great way to extend Zurich’s support.
“We’re thrilled to team up with the Gus & Gawny podcast once again to support FightMND’s Big Freeze campaign,” Griffin said.
“By collaborating with Gus & Gawny, we’ve been able to increase our donation to $20,000 – a testament to the collective impact achieved when partners unite for a greater cause.
“We continue to be inspired by the unwavering determination displayed by Neale Daniher and his FightMND team, and we’re pleased to play a small part in supporting their vital research and quest to find a cure for this disease.”
With Big Freeze 9 just around the corner, Gawn was on hand on Tuesday to present the cheque to FightMND’s Ben Daniher, on behalf of Zurich.
The iconic event will return to the MCG on Monday, ahead of what is sure to be a blockbuster match between Melbourne and Collingwood.
The Zurich Walk to the ‘G will see a sea of red and blue flags and FightMND beanies make their way down Daniher’s Way to kick off proceedings, while ‘sliders’, including Melbourne’s very own Tayla Harris, will brave the ice in support of the cause.
To secure a limited edition Gus & Gawny jumper, visit The Demon Shop, and to get behind FightMND in 2023, buy a beanie online, or in-store at Coles or Bunnings.
