Melbourne has locked in promising young players Will Verrall and Oliver Sestan, extending their contracts for a further year.
The pair, who will remain on the rookie list for the 2024 season, have impressed with their attitude and commitment during their first year in the red and blue.
Verrall is an exciting prospect for Dees fans, standing at 200cm tall and having shown great resilience, working his way through a longer-term pelvis injury.
“As a young developing tall, Will was showing some exciting traits before he was sidelined with injury,” Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb told Melbourne Media.
“The way he has attacked his rehab process has been first class, and we think he has a bright future at our club. We look forward to him continuing to develop his game.”
Sestan, who landed at the Dees from Xavier College and Mansfield Football Club, has enjoyed a consistent season with the Casey Demons to date, kicking 10 goals across nine games.
“Oliver has been super impressive in his time with us,” Lamb said.
“As we know, he didn’t come through the traditional talent pathway, but has adapted to life as a professional athlete extremely well.
“What we are seeing from Oliver at VFL level and in training gives us confidence that he has the tools to take his game to a high level.”
The Demon duo join Kysaiah Pickett, Alex Neal-Bullen, Trent Rivers and Judd McVee in recently signing on with the club.
