NARRM’S Lachie Hunter has had his one-match suspension for Forceful Front-On Contact upheld at the AFL Tribunal on Tuesday night.
The decision comes after the club challenged the Match Review Officer’s grading of Careless Conduct, Medium Impact, High Contact, arguing that Hunter was contesting the ball and it was reasonable for him to do so in such way.
Narrm further argued that an alternative, head-first approach would have been reckless and dangerous.
The incident, involving Yartapuulti’s (Port Adelaide) Connor Rozee, occurred during the third quarter of Narrm’s Round 10 match at Adelaide Oval. Rozee was not injured in the collision.
As a result of the sanction, Hunter will miss the Demons’ upcoming game against Walyalup (Fremantle).
For the duration of Sir Doug Nicholls Round, the Melbourne Football Club will be rebranded and referred to as the Narrm Football Club.
