FOLLOWING the thumping VFL victory over the Northern Blues on Saturday, Cory Machaya has been named as the King Gee Trademark Player of the Week.
Machaya had the second-most possessions on ground with 27, while also contributing two goals in the side's win.
Coach Jade Rawlings was thrilled with the performance of the former Dandenong Stingray.
Cory set a tone for his team mates in the first quarter with his attack on the ball, discipline to play his position and his team first actions," Rawlings said.
"Cory has now played the last six games in a row and is growing each week he plays.
"He is popular, and respected, by his AFL and VFL peers."
In the women's game Eden Zanker was named as the player of the round by coach Damien Keeping.
"After putting together a quality body of work over the first half of the season Eden Zanker is now reaping the reward," Keeping said.
"Eden’s past three games have been of a very high standard. The foundation to her high performance has been a significant work rate and a focus on movement which has not only enabled her to win the footy but also create space for her team mates.
Eden has demonstrated real growth on and off field throughout the season and has laid a solid base as she enters into her second AFLW season for Melbourne."
Machaya and Zanker will receive a $150 voucher thanks to King Gee.
