MELBOURNE has added James Frawley, Rohan Bail and Matthew Bate to its squad for Monday’s traditional Queen’s Birthday clash against Collingwood.

Frawley has been named in the starting 18, while Bail and Bate and have been included on the extended interchange.

Bate, Cale Morton, Lynden Dunn, Sam Blease, Brad Green, Luke Tapscott and Bail make up the provisional bench.

Football manager Josh Mahoney said Frawley and Bail needed to prove their fitness before being named in the final team.

“They’re a chance to play, but considering we’ve still got our main session to go on Friday, it’s a different situation,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“We’ve named our team without having had our main training session, but if they train well on Friday and get through that, we expect them to play on Monday.”

Frawley missed Melbourne’s first win of the season last round, when he withdrew on the eve of the match with a foot injury.

Bail was also a late withdrawal, due to concussion sustained against Carlton in round nine.

Bate, who played in Melbourne’s opening seven rounds, is back in the mix after being out of the side for the past three matches.

At this stage, no Demons have been omitted. Melbourne’s final team will be confirmed on Saturday.
