MELBOURNE will shine a light on youth mental health this week, hosting its annual ‘Round for Reach’ at the MCG.
A highlight on the club’s fixture, the dedicated charity match will see the Demons hero The Reach Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation co-founded by the late Jim Stynes in 1994, and recognise its important work in empowering young Australians.
This year’s campaign will call into focus the preventative nature of Reach’s work and encourage the football community to Kick Start Change.
Reach’s 100% youth-led and designed workshops aim to give young Australians the tools to navigate life’s challenges, in turn minimising the likelihood of developing mental ill-health.
The proactive approach is at Reach’s core and continues Stynes’ legacy of helping people believe in themselves and see their full potential.
With only one percent of funding going towards prevention, every dollar donated to the Kick Start Change campaign will back real change and make a difference in allowing Reach to shift the dial on the mental health crisis.
The Demons will further highlight the importance of Reach’s work in the lead up to the special game, when they host Sydney at the MCG on Sunday afternoon.
