MELBOURNE has rolled out the red and blue carpet to help lift the spirits of a young fan in need.

The Melbourne players rallied around young Demon Alfie who has experienced a tough run in recent times.

Alfie carried drinks for the players and helped set up the drills during Monday morning's session as the club's AFL list made sure the young fan received plenty of attention on the track.
