Jordie McKenzie's return

Hi, when is Jordie coming back. I miss him in my fantasy side. Kind regards Richard.

Matt says: Hi Richard, the good news is that Jordie is returning to the Casey reserves side this Sunday. Unfortunately, Jordie had a groin injury and it restricted the first part of his 2011 season. He will be playing his first match for the season, along with rookie and 2008 Hawthorn premiership ruckman Robbie Campbell. Casey is playing Northern Bullants at Preston City Oval from 11am.

Rohan Bail’s number change

Hey Matt, did Rohan Bail wear No.41 in his first game, even though he wears No.44 now? Matt, Warrnambool.

Matt says: Hi Matt, yes Rohan did wear No.41 in his first match for Melbourne. It was against North Melbourne in round 19, 2009. Unfortunately, Rohan injured his quadriceps in the warm-up of his debut. He then switched to No.44 for the start of the 2010 season and has played 14 of his 15 AFL matches. The reason he switched was because it became available when Shane Valenti moved on from the club and Rohan wore No.44 for Mt Gravatt, before being drafted by Melbourne.

Where to purchase Melbourne guernseys

Dear Sir, may I start by saying I am not a member this year as I have four grandchildren and was spending the money on decking them out and trying to convert them over to the Demons. To my absolute disgust I went to K-Mart to purchase three jumpers for my two by four year old grandsons and my three year old grandson. Every Victorian club was available except for Melbourne. When I asked where and when Melbourne jumpers would be available, I was met with: ‘won’t have any as they don’t sell’. One of my grandsons then said: ‘don’t worry Pop I will get a Bombers one like Dad has’. Can you please tell me how we can get more supporters, when our brand is not available? I almost had these kids over the line and now will have to work harder to do so. Please let me know where I might be able to purchase them. Greg Winstanley.

Matt says: Hi Greg, I have spoken to Tom McDonald, our retail manager at Melbourne, who has supplied the information required. Unfortunately we have no control on what Kmart decides to sell. It is a separate business from us and it is 100 per cent Kmart’s decision in relation to what they sell - and in this case don’t sell. From a branding point of view, it is a real shame that there isn’t more stock out there, but companies like Kmart will only start purchasing Melbourne once the club grows and the demand increases. The good news is that is starting to happen. Rebel sport would rarely get Melbourne gear in to sell, but this season it has sold really well. The tide is changing. Tom has stressed that the Demon Shop is the one-stop shop for all Melbourne footy gear. We hope that in the future that other sporting chains take more of our stock.
