INS – Caris, Wilson, Brown
OUTS – L.Pearce (concussion), Sherriff (inj.), Goldrick (inj.)

MELBOURNE will head into its Round 8 clash against the Gold Coast Suns with three changes to its starting 21.

Maggie Caris comes into the side to fill the ruck gap left by Lauren Pearce who sustained a concussion during Round 7.

Charlotte Wilson and Ali Brown have also been called upon for the Saturday night match, with Casey Sherriff and Sinead Goldrick both sidelined.

GM - Football Operations and AFLW Marcus Wagner provided an update on Sherriff and Goldrick on Friday night.

“Casey had a good week on the track but is just managing some soreness in her wrist,” Wagner told Melbourne Media.

“We have taken a conservative approach, with the view that she is available for selection in Round 9.

“Sinead felt some tightness in her hamstring during our final training session on Thursday night.

“She will be further assessed in the coming days and therefore won’t make the trip to the Gold Coast.”

Saturday night will be a special match for the club’s skipper Daisy Pearce, who will celebrate her 50-game milestone.

Pearce has been a pioneer of the game and has been an important part of Melbourne’s AFLW program from day one.

Over her 50 games, Pearce has been recognised on numerous occasions including three club best and fairest awards in addition to her three All-Australian selections.

This weekend will also mark the league’s third Pride Round, celebrating the inclusion and diversity within the AFLW community.

The Demons will be running out in their season seven pride guernsey designed by fan Alejandro Stephens. A member of The Ruby Demons, Melbourne’s pride supporter group, Stephens created a jumper that encapsulates the LGBTQIA+ community within the league.
