Toby Bedford has today informed the club that he would like to explore his options as an uncontracted player.
Despite a contract offer in front of Bedford, the 22-year-old has advised the club of his desire to join the GWS Giants.
Melbourne List Manager Tim Lamb said that the Demons will now work with the GWS Giants to facilitate a suitable trade.
“While we are disappointed that we will be losing Toby, we understand and respect his decision to pursue further opportunities,” Lamb told Melbourne Media.
“We will now work with the GWS Giants to facilitate a suitable trade.
“We thank Toby for his contribution and commitment to the club over a number of years.”
Bedford played 16 senior games this season, with ten of those as the Medical Substitute. More recently, Bedford took home a VFL Premiership with the Casey Demons.
A member of the club’s Next Generation Academy, Bedford was drafted to Melbourne in the 2018 National Draft.
