MELBOURNE will honour the life and legacy of club champion Jim Stynes on Friday night, celebrating the ‘Round for Reach’.

A highlight in the Demon calendar, the ‘Round for Reach’ shines a light on The Reach Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation which was co-founded by Stynes in 1994.

The Melbourne great, who played 264 games for the red and blue, dedicated his life off the field to investing in the youth of Australia, passionate about helping people become the best versions of themselves.

From this passion, The Reach Foundation was born and has been the living legacy of Stynes’ work, transforming the lives of young Australians.

Through their powerful workshops, The Reach Foundation is able to connect to individuals and equip them with the tools and skills to navigate life and its challenges.

With four out of five young Australians experiencing mental health issues over the past two years and one in four reporting suicidal thoughts, Australia is facing a youth mental health crisis, making Reach’s work all the more vital in the country’s landscape.

During this year’s campaign, Melbourne is asking Australians to ‘Be Like Jim’ and throw their support behind the youth of Australia.

By donating $11 (Jim’s jumper number) during ‘Round for Reach’, you can help continue Stynes’ legacy through the important work of The Reach Foundation.

Major Partner Haymes Paint will be getting involved in the 'Round for Reach' with their quarter time Kick for Cash promotion during Friday night’s match. Past players David Neitz and Jeff Farmer will be kicking for cash and if they’re successful, Haymes will donate $10,000 to The Reach Foundation.

Demon fans will also be able to show their support by donning a limited edition ‘Be Like Jim’ badge, a special memento for the round that will be handed out during the Friday night clash.
