INS – Hibberd, Turner (debut)
OUTS – Hunt, Tomlinson (omitted)
MELBOURNE will head into its Queen’s Birthday clash against the Pies with two changes to its starting 22.
Michael Hibberd and Daniel Turner have been called upon for the Monday match, with Turner set to run out for his first AFL game.
It was announced that the defender would make his debut on Friday, with Jake Lever revealing the exciting news to the playing group ahead of the team’s session at Casey Fields.
The 20-year-old comes into the side as a key position player, bolstering the Dees' backline with his natural ability to intercept the ball in the air.
Jayden Hunt and Adam Tomlinson have been omitted from the team, with Tomlinson joining Sam Weideman, Oskar Baker and Kade Chandler on Melbourne’s emergency list.
Monday’s game will mark a significant event in the league’s calendar, with FightMND celebrating the eighth annual ‘Big Freeze’ match, which highlights club great Neale Daniher AO and his fight against Motor Neurone Disease (MND).
The Queen’s Birthday event sees the AFL community come together to help raise funds and awareness for Fight MND.
Melbourne will face Collingwood at 3:20pm (AEST), with the much-loved Zurich Walk to the ‘G making its return alongside the fan-favourite slide, with willing individuals preparing to take the icy plunge in support of the day.
You can get involved in the fundraising efforts by purchasing a 'Big Freeze' 8 beanie or donating directly to Fight MND here.
While the match is a Collingwood home game, it has been deemed a members replacement game for Dees members, meaning they will have general admission access.
