MELBOURNE has made one late change for its Round 16 clash with Carlton, as Braydon Preuss comes into the side to replace Max Gawn.
Gawn was given every chance to prove his fitness after rolling his ankle against Brisbane last weekend but hasn’t recovered in time to face the Blues.
The vice-captain’s exclusion offers an opportunity for Preuss, who has played two games in the red and blue since seeking a trade at the end of 2018.
Preuss provided plenty of excitement in his two appearances for the club, booting multiple goals on both occasions earlier in the year.
The former Roo has played a total of 10 AFL games and will bring an undeniable energy to the side.
At 206cm, Preuss will fill the void in the ruck on Sunday afternoon, coming up against Carlton’s Matthew Kreuzer.
