WITH Round 1 of the AFL season just days away, Melbourne members are preparing to return to the MCG.
As the league shifts away from physical membership cards, the Demon faithful will now be able to access their membership and scan into games via the Melbourne Football Club app on iPhone and Android devices.
The club is encouraging all members to load their Mobile Membership to their device before arriving at the ground.
Tickets will be available to view in the app 72 hours prior to each home game.
Here’s all the information you need to load your Mobile Membership onto your device.
Mobile Membership How-To Guide:
- Download the app on your iPhone or Android device from your the App Store.
- On the main menu of the app, select 'MORE.' This will be located in the bottom right corner.
- From the navigation menu, select 'Mobile Membership'
- Log-in to your My Demons account
- If asked to link a Ticketmaster account, select 'no thanks'
- Select the match you would like to attend (this will be available 72 hours prior to each game)
- Select 'View Barcode' to view your ticket or add to your Apple Wallet or Passbook for later use or simply scan in to the ground using the barcode in the app.
- Important seating information
- If you are a Reserved Seat Member, note the location of your seat on your ticket. This will be your reserved seat for the season.
- If you are a Reserved Bay Member (Redlegs Bay N1-N4 or Demon Seats Plus Bay M14), ignore the seat location on your ticket you can sit anywhere within your allocated bay(s).
- If you are a General Admission Member, ignore the seat location on your ticket you can sit in any general admission area.
- If you have multiple memberships on your account, you can view each barcode by swiping across. There is an option to forward these to the appropriate people.
- Scan into the game using this barcode.
Please note, for general admission members please ignore the sec, row and seat that appears with your barcode. Your general admission membership gives you access to any general admission areas which are communicated at the ground on game day.
Troubleshooting
If you are having any issues with the club app, please check the following:
iPhone version
- Ensure you are using the latest version of the app. If you don't have automatic updates turned on, check your manual updates list on the App Store.
- The app will only function on devices using iOS software 11.0 or higher. If you are using an iPhone released before 2013, you may experience compatibility issues. See the full list of compatible iPhones here.
- If you have an older or incompatible device and cannot access the app, please contact us.
Android version
- Ensure you are using the latest version of the app. You can see if you have a pending update on the Google Play Store following these instructions.
- Users will need to be running Android Version 5.0 or higher. You can check these by going to your System Settings > Scrolling to ‘About Phone’ or ‘About Device’ which will be at the bottom > Software Information. The Android version will be noted on this page.
