JACK Viney is doing everything he can to return from a fractured fibula, says teammate Daniel Cross, who suffered the same injury late last season.
Viney will miss his fourth match this round, but Cross – who incredibly came back from a fractured fibula after four weeks and one match as an emergency last year – said the young Demon had been doing everything in his power to come back sooner than later.
“Jack’s a professional young man and we’d love to get him back quickly,” he said.
“It’s exactly the same injury as I had. Everything that happened to me happened to Jack.
“It was the same area and same break.”
Cross said Viney had also tried a bone broth, which he took in his recovery from the injury last year.
“I’m one of the first people he came to, as the bone broth was one of the things that I used,” he said.
“Whether that got me back quicker or not – I’m not sure. But psychologically if you feel you’re doing everything possible to get back quicker, then I think that helps physically as well.”
“Jack tried the [bone broth]. He and his Mum tried to cook it, but it all went a bit awry, when they didn’t fill it with more water. It ended up burning and they stuffed up their slow cooker and had to chisel all the ingredients out.
“He ended up buying some from an organic food store.”
