MELBOURNE has re-signed Brent Moloney, Nathan Jones, Clint Bartram and Sam Blease for a further two years each, while Jack Grimes has extended his contract until 2013.

Moloney, Jones, Bartram and Blease will remain Demons until at least the end of 2012.

Grimes, 21, was already contracted until the end of 2011, but has increased it for a further two years.

The 28-gamer is one of Melbourne’s most important players long-term.

Moloney has played 108 AFL matches, including 85 with the Demons after making 23 appearances with Geelong from 2003-04.

A member of Melbourne’s leadership group, the 26-year-old is viewed as one of several prospects to captain the club in 2011 and beyond.

Jones has played 92 games and has missed just four matches since debuting in round 17, 2006.

The 22-year-old’s durability has become a feature of his game.

Bartram, 22, has featured in 80 matches, including 21 this year, since debuting in 2006.

The tenacious defender took his game to another level this year.

Blease is yet to debut, after suffering a broken leg in his first season last year, which also impacted in 2010. He did play VFL this year and showed some impressive signs.

The dashing midfielder looms as a pivotal player long-term.
