MELBOURNE Football Club has launched its 2012 membership campaign: 'Generation D'.

The 2012 campaign, unveiled on Wednesday, is all about the players and supporters who ‘bleed’ red and blue.

President Jim Stynes said "the club is in the best position strategically and operationally in decades in terms of readiness to build a future".

"In 2012, our generation of young, talented players will demonstrate their growing strength, and our aim is for this generation of supporters to experience ultimate success in coming years," he said.

The ‘Generation D’ campaign features many of the club’s emerging stars, such as Jack Watts, Liam Jurrah, James Frawley and Jack Trengove.

Club champions Brad Green, Brent Moloney and Aaron Davey are also prominent in the campaign.

Over the past couple of years, Melbourne has secured its key personnel, signing the likes of James Frawley, Jack Trengove, Jack Watts, Liam Jurrah, Colin Sylvia, Cale Morton, Stef Martin, Max Gawn and Luke Tapscott, who are all important members of ‘Generation D’.

Melbourne supporters have continued to prove that they are the most committed in the AFL in 2011, with 36,937 signing up as members.

According to recently released Morgan Research, this is the highest member to supporter ratio in the AFL, with Melbourne converting 20% of supporters to members.
