On the eve of Round One for both the rebel VFLW and Smithy’s VFL seasons, the Casey Demons will look to blood a multitude of new players for the first time for premiership points.

The VFLW side will kick start the day with their game against last year's finalists Box Hill Hawks. 

With new coach Matt Brewer now in charge, there will be a new look at the way the Casey Demons approach their football in 2024. 

Starting with six new debutants to pull on a red and blue jumper for round one. 

AFLW listed player Lily Johnson, and some recruits with plenty of top-tier experience, Sarah D’Arcy, Sophie Casey, and Jo Lin are joined by some fresh faces Lauren Jatczak and Olivia Morris.

The team will be led out by Vice-Captain Meg Macdonald due to Ally Kirkwood’s unavailability.

In a side that boasts plenty of AFLW playing experience in 2024, supporters are looking forward to what could be a successful season for the Demons.

INS: Koltyn Tholstrup, Kynan Brown, Tom Fullerton, Caleb Lewis, Andrew Green, Campbell Hustwaite, Lachie Connolly

After bowing out in the finals last year, the VFL side will be looking to rectify their status and form that Casey Fields is a hard journey for any side who visits in 2024.

The Demons will again go into the season with plenty of recruits that will run out in the red and blue for the first time at VFL level for points. 

Seven debutants between AFL and VFL listed players see a fresh new look to the Casey Demons for the season. Koltyn Tholstrup, Kynan Brown, and Tom Fullerton will provide some great presence around the ground and up forward, whilst VFL-listed players Caleb Lewis, Andrew Green, Campbell Hustwaite and Lachie Connolly round out the Casey Demons debut list. 

A forecast of a high-energy game between both sides will probably see this game go to the wire, with full confidence that our boy will have what it takes to see the game out.
