THE MELBOURNE Football Club is pleased to announce Kate Roffey AM as the No.1 ticket holder of its AFLW program.

President Brad Green bestowed the honour at the club’s Daisy Pearce Trophy on Saturday night, in a special moment at the best and fairest event.

Roffey, who joined the Board in 2013 and served as President from 2021 until September 2024, has long been a respected leader, holding many roles across elite sport in Australia.

Her extensive experience, dedication to women’s football and love of the red and blue saw her become the club’s first female President, where she only further championed the AFLW team.

Roffey reflected on her new role, and the excitement for what’s to come.

“It’s an honour to be named the No.1 ticket holder of our AFLW team,” Roffey said.

“The Melbourne Football Club has a special place in my heart, and I thank Brad Green and his Board for the kind invitation.

“I’m already looking forward to season 2025, where I can stand alongside our members, supporters and the mighty Demon Army to cheer our team on as they strive for success.

“You can count on me to be the first to give our incredible female athletes a hug – win, lose or draw. Go the Mighty Dees!”

Green said the club was proud to have such a passionate Demon representing the AFLW program.

“Kate’s love for our great club runs deep. Her passion for the growth and success of our AFLW program is unmatched, and we could not think of a more fitting person to be our No.1 ticket holder,” Green said.

“Kate’s commitment to advancing women’s sport and her belief in the power of community embody the very spirit of our club.

“We could not be prouder to welcome Kate, a true champion of our values and a driving force behind our success, into this special position within our AFLW family.

“On behalf of the broader club, I congratulate Kate on this well-deserved honour. I’m already looking forward to seeing her back at the footy in 2025.”
