Blaithin Mackin joined the Dees before season 7 in 2022, as one of the superstars from Armagh in the Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA).
Like other Irish recruits to Melbourne, Mackin took to AFLW swiftly and played in 10 of the 13 matches of season 7, including the 2022 Grand Final.
In 2023, she continued her excellent form, averaging 14 disposals per game and kicking five goals.
Her sister, Aimee, came to join her in 2023 but will not be available in 2024 due to ACL injury.

The Melbourne Football Club acknowledges and pays respect to the Traditional Owners of the land in which we are privileged to play our great game of AFL on throughout Australia. We recognise the continued connection our custodians have to the land and its waters, and respectfully acknowledge Elders past, present and emerging and their contribution to the broader community, as we work towards an equitable and reconciled Australia.
