With Aimee Mackin sadly injured and unable to play in season 2024, Melbourne recruiters made the most of the opportunity to add Taylor to the side on the eve of pre-season.
Taylor, an undrafted free-agent, was drafted in 2018 as an All-Australian junior, played 18 games for Geelong across three seasons of the AFL Women’s competition.
She then took the mature decision to step back from the sport in 2022 and take a short sabbatical, before returning to VFLW level in 2024.
Renowned as an elite ball user, Taylor was named in the ‘Team of the Year’ for the TAC League while playing junior football in 2017 and 2018, and as such has been known to recruiters as a high-end talent for many years.
