The late-career revival of Jake Melksham continued in 2024 as the 15-year veteran returned from a 2023 ACL tear. The mercurial forward played the last eight games of the season, kicking eight goals as he picked up right from where he left off in his 2023 purple patch. In a five-game 2023 span, Melksham booted 11 goals, including a set shot with less than a minute on the clock to deliver the Demons a hard-earned four points against Brisbane. The mid-sized forward oozes class with incredible goal sense and is a handful for any defence to keep pinned down. Melksham has taken on a leadership role at the club, having now played more games with the Demons than Bombers.
