JAYDEN Hunt is set for a stint on the sidelines after injuring his ankle during Melbourne’s Round 21 win against West Coast.
GM of AFL Football Performance, Alan Richardson, said it was unfortunate news for the hard-working defender.
“It’s obviously disappointing for Hunty,” Richardson said.
“It’ll give someone else an opportunity, but we know what Hunty provides in terms of his run and carry.”
Hunt has successfully undergone surgery, with the expected rehabilitation looking to be approximately four weeks.
Meanwhile, forward Tom McDonald will continue his rehabilitation from a back injury that resulted in him missing Monday night’s game.
His progress will be monitored throughout the week, with the club hopeful that he will be fit to return for the Round 22 clash with the Crows.
In some positive news, Mitch Brown, who suffered a heel injury in early July, will test this week for a return, after showing strong signs at training.
