In: Bowey, Sparrow
Out: Hibberd (Omitted), Jordon (Omitted)
MELBOURNE will field its second debutant of 2021 this weekend, when Jake Bowey lines up against the Suns.
Tom Sparrow, who was the unused medical sub in Round 19, has also been added to the starting 22 for Saturday’s game.
Bowey was recruited with pick No.21 in the 2020 National Draft and hasn’t put a foot wrong since joining the club.
Settling into a role across half-back for the Demons, Bowey is an elite user of the ball by foot, and despite standing at just 175cm, he is a composed player who will be ready to take his opportunity on Saturday afternoon.
The 18-year-old from the Sandringham Dragons is the son of former Saint Brett Bowey and is set to join James Jordon in debuting for the Dees this season.
Jordon and Michael Hibberd are the two to make way this week, joining Jake Melksham and Sam Weideman on the emergency list.
The Round 20 match will be held at Metricon Stadium with all the action kicking off at 3:10pm (AEST).
