MELBOURNE will be turning the MCG pink on Saturday afternoon as it continues its proud partnership with Breast Cancer Network Australia.
The Demons will be hosting the 2019 Pink Lady Match against Hawthorn in Round 7, treating football fans to the ‘Ultimate Pink Sports Day’.
All Dees players will be pulling on a pair of pink socks during the match on Saturday, while the pre-game activities are going to recognise the BCNA foundation.
With various stations set up outside the ground prior to the game, patrons are encouraged to arrive early and partake in supporting this cause.
This year’s Pink Lady Match will feature a Mini Field of Women in Yarra Park outside Gate 2, allowing people to write messages of support on the tribute tags.
There will also be an Inflatable Veronica (BCNA's trademark) on display, along with BCNA merchandise sales on the concourse near Gates 2 and 4.
You will also be able to show your support by grabbing one of the free pink hats being handed out by volunteers around the ground.
On top of this, fans will be able to add a third Zurich collector cup to their collection on Saturday with the ‘Jonesy’ edition being handed out between Gates 2 and 3, along with a pair of pink sunglasses to wear during the match.
The fun will continue with some Carpool Karaoke – an activity presented by Jaguar – giving fans plenty of opportunities to get involved ahead of the 1:45pm match.
Pink Sports Days are a great way for football clubs to rally players, officials and supporters together to help raise awareness and funds in support of Australians affected by breast cancer.
All sporting organisations can get involved by hosting their own Pink Sports Day. Click here for more information.
