While the mandatory 12-day break unfortunately rules the wingman out of Friday night’s clash with Brisbane, he has already begun his recovery process and will be on track to face the Pies the following week.
Tuesday morning was a successful one for the Dees at Casey Fields, with Bailey Laurie (cheekbone) and Joel Smith (knee) getting involved in some skills sessions with the main group for the first time, as they eye a post-bye return from respective injuries.
Just 10 days after an ankle injury, Deakyn Smith is out of his moon boot and nearly ready to begin running, while Jack Viney’s program has ramped up, with the vice-captain one-to-two weeks away from a return.
