YOUNG gun Luke Jackson will miss the Demons' Round 9 clash with Carlton on Sunday due to a fractured finger.
Jackson sustained the injury in Melbourne’s win over the Sydney Swans on Saturday night and is expected to spend 1-2 weeks on the sideline following minor surgery to repair the fracture.
In positive news for Demon fans, General Manager AFL Football Performance Alan Richardson said the club expects Jackson to bounce back from the injury quickly.
“It’s an unfortunate hiccup in Luke’s 2021 season, which to date seen him producing some solid and consistent football for us,” Richardson said.
“However, the positive news is that the required surgery was minor and as a result, we expect he will only miss 1-2 games of footy.
“Luke has been a really important contributor for us this year and we look forward to having him back on the field soon.”
