MELBOURNE has had just the one leader in its five-year AFLW history, and that trend won’t change any time soon.
Senior coach Mick Stinear has signed a fresh contract extension, keeping him in the top-job until at least the end of 2023.
The Demons would have had no hesitation in extending Stinear’s time at the club, given he recently became the first coach in the league’s history to record 25 wins.
This two-year deal provides great security for Stinear, but also stability for the team, as the Dees will be looking to improve on their fourth-place finish in the coming seasons.
Stinear’s future was revealed at the club’s 2021 Best and Fairest event, with new President Kate Roffey doing the honours in front of players, coaches, staff and fans.
