THE CASEY Scorpions season came to a halt after Williamstown proved to be too strong in the elimination final on Saturday at Casey Fields.

In what were tough conditions, the Scorpions failed to register a score in the first term giving Williamstown a 21 point lead heading in to the first break.

Williamstown maintained momentum and ran out the game with the final score board reading Williamstown 11.9. (75) over  Scorpions 5.8 (38).

Melbourne listed player Jordan Gysberts was a standout with 26 disposals and a goal.

It was a disappointing end to the season for  Casey who finished the home and away season on top of the ladder.
