KEY forward Chris Dawes has injured his calf during Melbourne’s main training session on Tuesday.
General manager of football operations Josh Mahoney confirmed Dawes had suffered the setback.
“Chris has been in modified training post-Christmas. Today, during training, he had an incident where he hurt calf,” he said.
“He will be scanned tomorrow (Wednesday) to confirm any damage.”
Dawes has battled ongoing calf issues in recent times.
He missed four matches with it last year, but also suffered an ankle late in 2015.
The 27-year-old played 14 matches last year.
Dawes has played 115 AFL games and kicked 126 goals and was a member of Collingwood’s 2010 premiership.
