INS: Maddi Gay, Sarah Lampard, Niamh McEvoy
OUTS: Krstel Petrevski, Megan Fitzsimon, Brenna Tarrant
Melbourne will welcome some familiar faces back for Round 3, with three additions to its side to take on North Melbourne.
Maddi Gay has been named after missing the first two rounds with a quad concern, while Sarah Lampard will also pull on the red and blue guernsey for the first time this season.
It will be a significant milestone for the defender, who was struck down with an ACL injury last March; the second of her career.
The pair will be joined by Irish talent Niamh McEvoy, who secures a spot after being an emergency for the past two weeks.
The ones that miss
Melbourne was forced to make at least one change this week, with Krstel Petrevski sidelined due to a severe hamstring injury.
As announced, the 19-year-old, who went down in the third quarter against Richmond on Saturday, will unfortunately miss the remainder of the 2021 season.
Recruit Megan Fitzsimon and Brenna Tarrant were the other two switches to the Dees’ side – the pair were omitted but have been named as the two emergencies.
Behind closed doors
Following the Victorian Government’s announcement of a five-day lockdown, Saturday night’s clash against the Kangaroos will be closed to the general public.
While members and supporters won’t be able to attend Casey Fields, they can tune in on 7mate from 7pm, with the match also being streamed via womens.afl, the AFLW app and Kayo.
In addition to the coverage, Melbourne’s digital channels, including website, social media and app, will provide updates on all the game day action.

With both teams undefeated this season, the clash is set to be a big one.
North Melbourne has continued its impressive 2020 form with two comfortable wins over Geelong and St Kilda, having conceded only two goals to date.
The Demons were the last team to beat the Kangaroos back in last year’s season-opener and will be eager to get another one over them come Saturday night.
