KEY defender recruit Sam Frost says he has quickly adjusted to life as a Demon and is relishing the opportunity to be back in his home town.

The former Giant returned to his native state of Victoria via the October trade period. He said apart from some “fine-tuning” to fit into a slightly different training structure, it had been smooth-sailing so far at Melbourne.

“I’m tracking along pretty well and I’ve just got a few things to tune up,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“There hasn’t been a whole lot of difference to be honest.”

“There have been a few differences in the finer details of things, but overall it’s got a fairly similar feel. Everyone is raring to go and can’t wait for games to roll around, so it’s fairly similar in that regard.”

Frost said he felt he belonged the moment he donned the red and blue colours.

“As soon as I got here, the group was really great. They’re really friendly and easy to get along with and I’ve moved back with the family, so it hasn’t been a problem. I absolutely love it,” he said.

“There has been a bit of an adjustment with the training schedule, but I’ve found it pretty easy to settle in and I’m getting used to it pretty quickly.

“I’m used to having a Thursday and Sunday off [when I was at GWS], so going to Monday to Friday was a bit of a change up for me. It’s a long week, but it’s just a bit of conditioning.”

Frost said he was looking forward to spending some quality time with his family over the Christmas/New Year period, given he had resided in New South Wales for the past couple of years and has hit the ground running at Melbourne.

“I’ll just try and spend some real quality time with the family because I’ve been pretty flat out coming back home and getting stuck into pre-season,” he said.

“It will be good to spend time with the family and just relax and get ready for the New Year.

“I’ll do a lot of training and stay in shape and get stuck right in as soon as we get back.”
