MELBOURNE has made five changes to its side for Friday night’s clash against Sydney at the MCG.
Marty Hore, Alex Neal-Bullen, Billy Stretch and Charlie Spargo have all been named in the team, along with Kade Chandler – the Demons confirmed the 19-year-old will make his AFL debut on Thursday morning.
The inclusions come after Steven May (hamstring) was ruled out for the season earlier in the week, and Oscar McDonald (ankle) and Harry Petty (groin) pulled up sore from last week’s game.
Jayden Hunt and Oskar Baker round out the changes, with the pair being omitted.
Hore’s selection comes after a string of impressive performances for the Casey Demons. Since recovering from a broken collarbone, the defender has averaged 26 disposals across the last three weeks, recording 21 kicks and 10 marks in his most-recent match.
Stretch also earns his spot on the back of his VFL form. The 22-year-old has, too, featured for Casey in the past month, and will be eager to build on his efforts in his eighth senior game of the year.
And Neal-Bullen and Spargo will get their chance to prove themselves, as they play their first games since Round 19 and Round 12 respectively.
Hunt joins Braydon Preuss, Jay Lockhart and Declan Keilty on the Demons’ emergency list, with the Casey Demons set to take on Frankston on Sunday afternoon. The match has been relocated to Frankston’s Skybus Stadium due to playing conditions at Casey Fields.
