WITH Aaron vandenBerg set to miss this Sunday’s clash with Brisbane, the Dees have added five players to their extended bench.

Nathan Jones, Tom McDonald, Alex Neal-Bullen, Joel Smith and Adam Tomlinson are all in contention for a senior recall in Round 8, with at least one spot up for grabs in the final 22.

vandenBerg’s withdrawal comes after he suffered a fractured cheekbone in the first half of last week’s win over the Hawks.

But in positive news, the Dees could benefit from the return of McDonald, who is fit for selection after recovering from a scratched eye.

The key forward will have to wait until Friday evening to learn his fate, named on the interchange alongside fellow tall Luke Jackson for the trip to Metricon Stadium.
