NEVILLE Jetta says Melbourne’s work-ethic was not up to scratch, which proved costly in its 29-point loss to Brisbane Lions at Visy Park on Saturday.

Although the Demons were disappointing, the efforts of Jetta, particularly his tackling, were a highlight. His game earned praise from coach Dean Bailey post-match.

“As an individual I thought it (my performance) was OK. But it’s a team game, so I don’t really care about mine, as long as the team wins,” he told melbournefc.com.au.

“We didn’t get up today, which was disappointing, so we’ve just got to keep working on a few things and get our stuff right before round one.

“We didn’t work hard enough and didn’t get into our positions at times, so we’ve got to keep working for each other.

“We’ll go back now and work on it, so practice makes perfect as they say and we’ll do that now.”
