MELBOURNE'S Jack Trengove's first goal in AFL was one to remember. It came at the 23rd-minute mark of the third quarter and it put the Demon's in front, helping them surge to their first victory of the 2010 season.

Speaking post-match to melbournefc.com.au, Trengove said he was blown away by the winning feeling, particularly with the buzzing change-rooms.

"It's definitely a great atmosphere in the rooms after my first win, so I'm just really pumped and excited for the boys because we've been working pretty hard all pre-season," he said.

"It's always good to win and especially because it's the first one. We've copped a fair bit from the media, so it's good to be able show them and play some good footy and play some good games.

"We took a lot of confidence out of last week and did pretty well today, so I'm pretty happy with it."

Trengove, who impressed with 23 disposals, revealed the Demons were confident of defeating Adelaide at three quarter-time, despite holding just a one-point lead.

"The Crows had a few boys down and out, so we knew coming into the last quarter that we'd be a fair chance because we ran out of legs," he said.

"Half way through the last quarter I was really feeling it. But because they had their injuries, we just had to keep running and eventually it came through and we got a few goals, which put us in front."

The midfielder was sporting a black-eye after the match, but said it was all part and parcel of the game.

"Just before half-time, Simon Goodwin fumbled it in the backline, so I just jumped on him and as he handballed it, his head went back and got me right in the end," Trengove said.

"But it's all all right."
