ALL-AUSTRALIAN James Frawley is a chance to return for Sunday’s twilight clash against Hawthorn at the MCG, according to teammate Jack Trengove.

Speaking at AAMI Park on Monday, Trengove said the key defender was itching to make a round two return, after injuring his pectoral muscle in the pre-season.

“Hopefully [he’ll play]. He’s been out for a while now, but we’ll see how he goes at training,” Trengove said of Frawley.

“He’s looked really good in the last few weeks. He’s an All-Australian and you want to get all of the good players playing in the side, so hopefully he can get up for this week.”

The prospect of Frawley lining up on Hawthorn star Lance Franklin is also a tantalising prospect for round two.

“Last year he did pretty well on ‘Buddy’,” Trengove said.

“He’s a great player and whoever has to come up against him - it will be a tough task.

“Chippa is definitely up for it as we saw last year, so I’m backing him in 100 per cent.”

But Trengove said midfield teammate Tom Scully is still another two to three weeks away from returning from a knee injury.

“I don’t think he’ll be right next week,” he said.

“He got a bit of knee soreness and he’ll probably have two or three weeks off and we’ll see how he goes and how he’s traveling.

“It’ll be great when he comes back, because he’s a great player.”

Trengove said Hawthorn on the rebound, after it went down to Adelaide at AAMI Stadium on Saturday night, will pose a genuine challenge for the Demons.

“They’d be pretty disappointed with their efforts over in Adelaide, so they’re always going to be a tough team to come up against,” he said.

“But after a week like that, it’s going to be a really tough game.

“We’ll really do our research on them this week and hopefully come up with another good performance against them.”
