Scans for Gawn
Melbourne ruckman Max Gawn will have scans to determine the severity of a knee injury sustained in a session on Wednesday
MELBOURNE will know by lunchtime Thursday the severity of the knee injury sustained by promising ruckman Max Gawn at training.
Gawn, 19, injured the knee in a session at Casey Fields on Wednesday.
He was scheduled for scans on Thursday morning.
A serious injury would be a huge blow for the young ruckman, who missed much of 2009 and 2010 after having a knee reconstruction.
The 208cm giant made his AFL debut in round 11 this year against Essendon after being named as emergency for three straight weeks, and played four senior games for the season.
Gawn was drafted with selection No.34 overall in the 2009 NAB AFL Draft.
