Casey player review round 19
Forward line development coach Paul Satterley looks at the Melbourne-listed players who against Northern Blues at Casey on Saturday
Lucas Cook: Kicks 7, Handballs 2, Disposals 9, Marks 2, Tackles 3, Goals 2
Played on a physical opponent in Nick Duigan and whilst he was kept quiet for most of the day, Cooky stuck to the task and kicked two goals.
Leigh Williams: Kicks 8, Handballs 2, Disposals 10, Marks 5, Tackles 1
After a slow start, Leigh worked into the game and was Casey's most effective forward, generating five shots on goal (3.2).
Troy Davis: Kicks 7, Handballs 5, Disposals 12, Marks 3
A much improved game from Troy, he was physical and competed well.
Josh Tynan: Kicks 2, Handballs 3, Disposals 5, Marks 1, Tackles 2
After a long break out of the side, Josh only played a half, but what he did, he did well. We are just pleased to have him playing again.
Jack Fitzpatrick: Kicks 6, Handballs 3, Disposals 9, Marks 3, Tackles 2, Goals 2
He spent most of his time in the ruck (26 hit outs) and was effective in his efforts. When moved forward for brief periods, Jack kicked two goals and again contributed to the team.
Matthew Bate: Kicks 16, Handballs 9, Disposals 25, Marks 4, Tackles 9
After dealing with illness throughout the week - he lost 5-6kg - it was a brave effort to play and perform for the side. He battled all day (25 disposals) despite clearly not being 100 per cent.
Michael Evans: Kicks 11, Handballs 4, Disposals 15, Marks 2, Tackles 3, Goals 1
Has now played three games since his long spell. He didn’t have the same impact as his previous games (15 disposals and a goal), but the positive was that he is worked hard and pulled up well.
Jai Sheahan (Casey reserves): Kicks 9, Disposals 9, Marks 3, Goals 1
It was a reasonable game from Jai. He kicked 1.3, but didn't take his opportunities as well as he can.
